Human Power
Live Locally? Keep it green and bike, skate, roll or walk to Santa Maria Open Streets ¡Calles Vivas! Just head down to Main Street from any connecting street. By bike, you can use one of the temporary bike routes that will be signed on the day of the event. You’ll have easy access without the wait or cost for parking. While you are encouraged to ride your bike throughout our entire event route to get the most out of SMOS, you’ll also find many spots to park and lock your bike, including two bike valet stations – one at Pine St. and one at Depot St. – and self-serve bike racks at our activity zones (be sure to bring your own lock)!
Bicycle safety videos for kids!
These videos teach essential skills, like wearing helmets and following traffic rules, to ensure that young riders stay safe while having fun on their bikes. Watch them in both English and Spanish.
