Live Locally? Keep it green and bike, skate, roll or walk to SB Open Streets ¡Calles Vivas! Just head down to East Cabrillo Boulevard from any connecting street. You’ll have easy access without the wait or cost for parking. While you are encouraged to ride your bike throughout our entire event route to get the most out of SBOS, you’ll also find many spots to park and lock your bike, including self-serve bike racks at our activity zones (be sure to bring your own lock)!
We strongly encourage using public transit options like the bus or shuttle, but if you must drive, please consider car pooling! The best ways to access SB Open Streets are via the following Highway 101 exits:
If walking or biking to SB Open Streets is too far, you can take advantage of any number of MTD buses and even load your bike on the rack in front at no extra charge! Many MTD bus lines are available, all of which run to the main Transit Center downtown. You can then take the Downtown Electric Shuttle (50¢ – running every 15 minutes – see below) on State Street down to Sterns Wharf to exit and join us for SB Open Streets. Check out MTD’s online Bus Maps & Schedules for all the options! The MTD Waterfront Shuttle will be detoured for SB Open Streets. Click here for the detour map.
We encourage our friends from L.A. & parts South, and San Luis Obispo County & parts North to make it a car-free weekend and take Amtrak trains to and from SB Open Streets, helping reduce freeway congestion and carbon emissions as well.
