Santa Barbara’s Streets Come Alive Saturday, Nov 2nd!

We’re looking for Volunteers!  Click HERE if you’d like to help with SB Open Streets!

Santa Barbara Open Streets

(‘Calles Vivas‘ is Spanish for ‘Streets Alive’)

On Saturday, November 2nd, we will open a stretch of our beach-side roadways and invite people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds into the streets (with no motorized vehicles), for a day of people-powered movement to promote better health, flexibility and FUN.  Participation is absolutely FREE and no registration is required.  Just bring your bike, blades, skateboard, stroller, furry friends (on a leash please) or just yourself if you’d like to walk, jog or roll…but above all, bring your energy and smiles!  Open Streets is not a race; there is no start or finish; the only goal is to get out there and have fun at your own pace along the route.  Local businesses, artists, performers and restaurants will be on hand to add to the family-friendly excitement!

Stay tuned to this site (and our Facebook page) for future updates, including hub locations, parking areas and all the FREE fitness, music, dance, art and cultural activities that will await you when Santa Barbara’s streets come alive!

Be sure to check our Calendar page to find out when and where the Santa Barbara Open Streets ¡Calles Vivas! team will be at various local and regional events.

Santa Barbara Open Streets ¡Calles Vivas! is coordinated by the Coalition for Sustainable Transportation (COAST) with marketing support from Traffic Solutions.
